Home backup power supply

Generator for heating has become indispensable in modern heating systems. Even if carbon is used as the energy carrier, electricity is needed for the controls, circulating pumps, etc. and it is extremely important to design the backup power for heating system correctly.

Modern society moves towards flexibility and renewable energy.

Power island solutions and power supply systems with batteries have become a trend and are becoming more and more common. We are currently experiencing rapid changes in the manufacture of batteries and accumulators, which are increasingly affecting our everyday lives.

Inverter generators KS 4000iES ATS and KS 6000iES ATS are equipped with internal ATS modules and enable a wide range of, sometimes unique, backup power solutions.

The house power supply from the public grid is made in the TN or TT system. The neutral conductor is grounded in both systems on the grid side. In the TN system, there is also a grounded PE conductor in the house, which must be connected to the house earthing. House earthing in the TT system is only intended for earthing internal power consumers and must not be connected to the neutral conductor from the public grid. With the TN system, a distinction is made between TN-C and TN-S systems.

The choose of a suitable backup power generator should be made conscientiously, since an unsuitable generator not only endangers the intended use, but can also destroy the electrical consumers and is itself endangered.

Gasoline generators with Schuko and CEE sockets with PE position on 6h are designed as an IT system and have basic protection through the isolation of the active conductors. The PE pins in the sockets are connected to the frame of the generator in the same way as the ground screw. Active L and N lines are isolated from the generator frame.
