Main Point: where to Install a petrol generator?

With constant power outages, a petrol generator will be a valuable purchase. Many modern private house owners in Ukraine already have such a device or are trying to purchase one. In this regard, the logical question would be – where to install a petrol generator? Please read the owner's manual before purchasing and consider all the recommendations. The manual can be found on our website in the "Support" tab. What is the ideal area to install a petrol generator? A few basic recommendations:

  1. It is desirable to install the device outside the living area, and, if possible, outside the house. This will keep odors out of the living quarters and reduce the noise level.
  2. The installation area must be covered. This will protect the petrol generator from rain, snow, frost, sunlight, and wind.
  3. The installation area must be safe (in terms of fire protection). The device must not be installed near flammable objects. A diesel Popular products are found in petrol generators

Buy petrol generators, for example, is a frequent request. First of all, because conveniences such as water, electricity, gas are not available everywhere. No electricity – no heat, but people don't want to stay in the cold. Secondly, such a purchase will be very popular in distant corners of the country. The farther the residential area, the more expensive it is to lay the service lines. And if there are any, then, undoubtedly, there will be electricity failures, heating failures (if operated by electricity), and so on. The petrol generator solves such problems. But be careful when choosing a model. If you want to use the generator as a backup power source, then you need to correctly calculate the total power consumption, taking into account the operation of several devices at the same time. A good unit should provide the necessary power reserve. We can offer more. About generators ► inverter generators . More on our social networks facebook

Choosing the engine start type when buying a generator

In the event of a power outage, the generator is used as a house backup power source. When choosing a device for a country house, you will be faced with parameter options. For example, there are units with different engine start types: manual, electric, and automatic transfer switch (ATS). Tip 1. The petrol generator can also be filled with motor oil. When choosing the oil type, it is advisable to take into account the ambient temperature of the region, where the generator is operated. Choose only high-quality synthetic oil, since the service life of the purchased device directly depends on it. We recommend using Könner & Söhnen 10W-30 motor oil. Tip 2. Most often, the generator tank is filled with petrol not at the gas station. Special cans are used to transport petrol. It's important to keep the can clean, since the presence of debris, dust, or water in it is unacceptable. If even a small amount of water gets into the tank, the device will be damaged. We recommend using KS CAN 10 or KS CAN 5 fuel cans (10L and 5L capacity respectively). Tip 3. When starting the engine for the first time, the test run is one of the critical moments. It starts with the engine running for two hours at 50% load. The oil level must be monitored and replaced after 20 hours of operation. Tip 4. When choosing a specific model, special attention should be paid to generators with built-in ATS. Imagine you are not at home. Suddenly the power supply from the main network stops, as well as heating (if operated by electricity), and hot water (the same reason). The house gets completely frozen, the refrigerator does not work. And if you've gone on a journey, the premises may become damp at all. Your relatives may not be able to turn on the generator manually on their own, since they do not understand the technical aspects of starting the unit. Consider this fact when buying the generator. Make a choice based on your own benefit and needs. In general, the manual start procedure looks as follows:

  1. Read the owner's manual.
  2. Check the level of oil and fuel in the tank.
  3. Open the fuel valve.
  4. Close the air choke
  5. Grasp the starter handle and slowly pull it until resistance is felt. Pull the starter cord to the full length with a sharp movement.
  6. Set the engine start key to the ON position and hold it for a few seconds until the engine starts.
  7. Open the air choke. Allow the generator to run for a short time without any load before the engine starts to run smoothly.

Connect the generator to the power consumers. As you can see, it's no big deal. All the moves will be carried out more quickly when you repeat the procedure several times. Please find the description here. About generators ► diesel generators

Petrol generator – expert manual start lifehacks?

First of all, let's define: what is an inverter petrol generator? This device is an alternative solution to the classic one. Main advantages:
